Biographical Information[edit]
Bobby Jones was drafted by the New York Mets with a supplemental 1st round pick in the 1991 amateur draft acquired by losing Darryl Strawberry to free agency.
On October 8, 2000, he threw a complete game one-hit shutout to clinch the Division Series for the Mets over the San Francisco Giants. He and Bobby M. Jones were both on the roster of that year's Mets team as well as on the 2002 Padres.
Pitching for the San Diego Padres, he was the losing pitcher in rookie Bud Smith's no-hitter on September 3, 2001.
