March 13: Today's featured birthday is that of Luis Aguayo, who turns 66.
- 1910 - The original Comiskey Park opens, known at the time as White Sox Park. Chicago loses 2-0 before 24,900 fans.
- 1916 - Honus Wagner hits an inside-the-park home run. At 42 years and 4 months old, he is the oldest player to do so in major league history.
- 1920 - Walter Johnson allows no hits or walks but does not get a perfect game due to an error by 2B Bucky Harris.
- 1941 - Joe DiMaggio (pictured) ties Wee Willie Keeler's major league record for the longest hitting streak at 44 games. It is controversial as a hit is attributed to DiMaggio which could easily have been ruled an error by 3B Jim Tabor.
- 1962 - The White Sox become the first team to hit three sacrifice flies in an inning, aided by two drops by Indians RF Gene Green. Juan Pizarro, Nellie Fox and Al Smith are the batters involved in the record.
