November 25: Today's featured birthday is that of Chico Walker, who turns 67.
- 1914 - Walter Johnson signs a three-year, $17,500 deal with the Chicago Whales of the Federal League but Clark Griffith of the Washington Senators convinces the Whales that the option clause is binding; Johnson returns to Washington.
- 1927 - Paul Waner is named 1927 National League MVP, beating out Frankie Frisch.
- 1957 - The Chicago White Sox trade Minnie Miñoso and Fred Hatfield to the Cleveland Indians for Al Smith and Early Wynn.
- 1968 - The Baltimore Orioles get a great deal, picking up Mike Cuellar (pictured) and two others from the Houston Astros for Curt Blefary and John Mason. Cuellar will help the team to three straight American League pennants.
- 1970 - In the finale of the 1970 Amateur World Series, Santiago Mederos and two relievers beat Team USA, 5-3, to give the Cuban national team the win.
- 1971 - On the last day of the 1971 Amateur World Series, Santiago Mederos takes a star turn again, throwing a two-hit shutout for Cuba against an All-Star team from all the other nations.
