- 1939 - Mike Kreevich ties a major league record by grounding into four double plays in a game playing for the Chicago White Sox against the Washington Senators.
- 1985 - Tom Seaver wins his 300th game, and Rod Carew collects his 3,000th hit in separate games.
- 1993 - After being hit by a Nolan Ryan pitch, Robin Ventura charges the mound and is put into a headlock by Ryan and punched six times. Ventura is suspended two games, while Ryan is not punished.
- 1994 - Seattle Mariners pitcher Rich Gossage (pictured) makes his 1,000th career pitching appearance, becoming the third to reach the mark.
- 2007 - Alex Rodriguez hits his 500th home run, the youngest player ever to that level.
