Tsuneo Horiuchi was a key member of the Yomiuri Giants during their record nine consecutive championship seasons. He won the Sawamura Award twice, a Rookie of the Year, a seven-time All-Star and made the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a two-time winner of the Nippon Series MVP award. He won one ERA title and led the league once in victories. He set several records, some of which still stand decades later. He ranks among most leaderboards in NPB annals, having won over 200 games.
