Biographical Information[edit]
Ted Alfieri played for two seasons in Italy. He hit .296/.379/.542 with 14 homers, 41 runs and 44 RBI for Nettuno in 1976, fielding .919 at SS. He tied for second in the league in homers, 3 behind James Fradella and tied for 9th in RBI. In 1977, he moved to third base and batted .286/.367/.562. As the third baseman for the Italian national team in the 1977 European Championship, he hit .462/.500/.846 with 3 homers, 5 runs and 12 RBI in 6 games while fielding .889. He tied Riccardo Landucci for the most homers on Italy and led in RBI. He helped Italy to the title and was named European Championship MVP.
