Biographical Information[edit]
Tatsunori Matsui has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and the Japanese national team.
Matsui was on the Japanese national team in the 1989 Asian Championship. The Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the fourth round of the 1989 NPB draft. Matsui was used as a pinch-hitter and 4th outfielder in his entire career. He hit .318/.333/.420 with a career-high 88 at-bats in 1993, but he slumped to .221/.284/.250 in 1994. Matsui became a free agent and transferred to the Hanshin Tigers in 1995, but he only had one at-bat in that season, then he announced his retirement after the 1995 season.
Overall, Matsui had hit .253/.290/.343 in 8 seasons in NPB.
