Biographical Information[edit]

Tasuku Hashimoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 13 years.

Hashimoto was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the third round of the 1994 NPB draft, but he spent his first 2 seasons in the minors. He went 7-for-59 in 1997, and he had a .214/.294/.306 batting line in 2000. Hashimoto hit .274/.361/.474 in 47 games in 2001, and his batting line fell to .176/.317/.294 in 2002. Hashimoto then played 41 games with a .192/.293/.282 batting line in 2003, and he shared the starting catcher spot with Tomoya Satozaki in 2004. He crushed a career-high 13 homers in 93 games, and his batting line was .221/.282/.413.

The Ehime native then hit .257/.398/.426 in 2005, but he slumped to .146/.228/.233 in 2006. Hashimoto struggled again in 2007 as his batting line was .212/.326/.263, and he improved to 11 homers with a .311/.404/.536 batting line in 2008. He announced that he would became a free agent after hitting .234/.321/.313 in 2009, and the Yokohama BayStars signed him. He played 43 games with a .246/.318/.328 batting line in 2010, but he missed the entire 2011 season due to back injury. The BayStars released him, and Hashimoto signed with the Ehime Mandarin Pirates. He played for them for a season, and he announced his retirement in 2012.

Overall, Hashimoto hit .234/.326/.369 with 429 hits and 44 homers in 13 seasons in NPB.
