Talk:Wayne Garrett

From BR Bullpen

Pat Doyle has a Charles Garrett playing from 1963-1965 and 1968-1969. Do we know if this is Wayne and Adrian's brother? Or does Pat have two players mixed together? Where did Charles play in 1966-1967 if this is the same guy? - --Mischa 16:40, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Can someone check when Wayne Garrett played in Japan exactly. It couldn't have been in 1978, because he spent the entire season in the NL. --Philippe 11:20, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

1979-1980; see http://www.japanbaseballdaily.com/foreignbattingGaillard-Hilton.html BTW, I'm in the process of covering the 1979 Japanese seasons for the Strategic Baseball Simulator. Passover will slow things down but I hope to have them ready within the next couple months. Nice mix of old-time names like Oh and Harimoto, stars in their prime like Tabuchi and Kakefu and some other famous players like Kinugasa and Osugi. Lots of recognizable foreign names - the Garretts, Felix Millan, Charlie Manuel - --Mischa 11:27, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Charles and Wayne Garrett[edit]

1966-1967 Charles was serving in the US Army and played baseball for no one. Wayne, his brother, started the 1978 season with Montreal, but in August or September of that year was traded to the St Louis Cardinals.

There are 3 Garrett brothers and and all 3 are primarily known by their middle names. Henry Adrian Garrett Jr, Charles James (Jimmy) Garrett and Ronald Wayne Garrett. Adrian is known by either Adrian or Smokey (a nickname he picked up years ago). Jimmy is known by Jimmy to most folks, but by Charlie by some family members. And Wayne is known as Wayne. I hope this helps clarify any confusion regarding the Garrett brothers.
