Yes, it's hard to think of any catch as equalling the Willie Mays one. The description given of the Otis Nixon catch makes it sound "good", but good in the sense that you don't see something like that every day or even every month. On the other hand, the Willie Mays catch was preserved on video and audio, and is simply an impossible performance. Get a copy of the video, and see if you think it's possible that Willie could have run 100-150 feet with his back to the plate, caught the ball basically without looking back, and then in almost a single motion turn and throw the ball all the way back to the infield from 440 feet.
