Talk:Rick Dempsey

I will always associate Dempsey with the '79 Series, and as the O's went up 3 games to 1, Howard Cosell going on and on about how great the Orioles were, in a condescending tone toward the Pirates...throwing in little personal asides, which included something about having breakfast with Dempsey and his wife, I think...anyway, Cosell was smitten with the team, and he was such a football/boxing person, with little sense of baseball, all the while acting like it was a matter of course that this gritty, witty Orioles team would triumph--he got very quiet during the last 3 games of that Series. I'm not a Pirate fan, by the way.
