Talk:Rich Gale

From BR Bullpen

Rich was 18-18 with a 4.42 ERA and once led the league in walks in Japan. How does this make him a star there? I'd suggest removing that claim. - --Mischa 07:57, 8 January 2007 (EST)

Rich was 15-8 in 1985, his first year in Japan, with 2 wins in the Japanese World Series, including a cg in the final win. His team, The Hanshin Tigers, had never won the Japanese World Series in their history. In his first year playing for them Rich and teammate Randy Bass led them to the championship. Randy was MVP of both regular season and Series. Rich was MVPitcher of Series and led the Tigers in every important category for starting pitchers that year, 1985.He also threw back to back cg shutouts against the Tiger's huge rival, the Tokyo Giants. Also, unless you really know how American players are treated in Japan (strike zones, etc.) you might be better off withholding personal opinions about those players.
