Talk:Calvin Pickering

From BR Bullpen

We first saw Calvin play when he was with the Rochester Red Wings, the Orioles AAA Affiliate (at the time - now with the Twins).

He was a quality First baseman in the field and a power hitter in the 3rd and cleanup spots in the lineup. He was also a fan favorite who always received cheers at the plate.

As devoted Red Sox fans, my wife and daughter were delighted to see him briefly up with the Bosox. As a Yankee fan, I was not quite so happy! Regardless, we have all always enjoyed watching Calvin play.

Royals Management, what are you thinking? You can't play a guy 7 times in a season and expect much. If you play him he will produce!

Can someone please explain what this line means: "never really progressing far pass the incumbent" I can't figure out what the heck the guy or gal is trying to say. - --Mischa 21:00, 2 Apr 2006 (EDT)

i'm assuming that means he couldn't beat out Will Clark for the job? --Just me 22:02, 2 Apr 2006 (EDT)

Yeah, that what I was saying, that Pickering never really progessed far enough to beat out Will Clark for the first base job. Jbroks86
