Franchise history[edit]

Where did the Bisons come from before moving to the Eastern League for the '79 season? I assume that the current franchise is the same franchise as the Eastern League franchise in the early 80s. --Leshii 18:51, 14 Jun 2006 (EDT) -

Answer- Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1978, Rickey Henderson played for Jersey City

Conflicting info: 1) According to the Bisons' team media guide, the 1877 Bisons went 10-27 while the Minor League Baseball Website reports the team went 79-28-3. 2) The book "the International League" says that the team moved to Grand Rapids in 1890. The team website has the team moving to Montreal for the remainder of the 1890 season. I'd like to take the website at face value, but sometimes even a team can get it's own history wrong. - Yuriy 43.

Yuri, your comments apply more to this page. --Cmcgill (talk) 12:30, 30 July 2015 (EDT)

Actually they apply to both pages. Question one goes to the 1st Bisons team. Question 2 goes to the second Bisons team. But thanks. - Yuriy 43.

Famous Alumni[edit]

The famous alumni lists seems to leave out decades' worth of players. Is Otis Nixon really more notable than many other past Bisons? - --Mischa 19:16, 8 January 2007 (EST)

The Registers I have (72, 75, 77) support the 33-40 record for Zimmer in 1967, but The Minor League Register lists Fitzgerald at 31-39. Obviously this doesn't add up right. --Jeff 16:13, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

IS CHarles Morton Charlie Morton (mortoch01)? = --Mischa 12:16, 21 January 2011 (EST)

According to BR minors, yes --Jeff 14:43, 21 January 2011 (EST)

Coaches[edit]

The Bisons media guide lists Stan Cliburn as the hitting coach in 1988 but he was the manager at Watertown that year. Likely a situation where he started the year with the Bisons until the short season schedule started and then left for Watertown.--Biggtone23 (talk) 10:29, 23 April 2015 (EDT)
