Talk:Bob Dustal

From BR Bullpen

I knew "Andy" Dustal before and at the time he was drafted. Interestingly, Andy gave me a ball signed by all the Cincinnati Reds. As I recall, that is who drafted him. The ball is not stamped but contains actual signatures. So, this contradicts the information on this Web site that shows him as an amateur draftee by Detroit. Could he have been bought by Detroit from the Reds?

The amateur draft started in 1965, so he couldn't have been drafted.

Of course. I mispoke. How about the question instead being, who actually signed him first? From his own mouth (the day he gave me the ball), it was the Reds.

Andy Dustal[edit]

My dad is Andy Dustal, he played for the Reds. My uncle is Bob Dustal, he played for the Tigers. Where can I get more information on their playing history? I'm looking family history for my son.

Alan Dustal and Andrew Dustal[edit]

Now that minor league stats are part of the Baseball-Reference site we have some stats for both Alan and Andrew Dustal. Are they both brothers of Bob? See Alan Dustal and Andrew Dustal. The records are not necessarily complete. - Randy 20:16, 19 April 2009 (EDT)
