Talk:Bill Buckner
I was just looking through an old minor league team set (1981 Omaha Royals), there is a guy in the set named Jim Buckner, looks exactly like Bill (same moustache as well). Is this Bill's brother? If anybody wants to start a page for him, I'll add a photo of the card. - Andy
This page indicates that they are brothers. - --Mischa 11:38, 13 May 2007 (EDT)
The 1990 Register says they are too. --Jeff 23:37, 15 June 2007 (EDT)
More than for his '86 error, I remember Bill Buckner for doing one of the more bush league things I've ever seen in baseball. This was in the mid 70s--at Chavez Ravine, the Dodgers were killing the Padres, something like 7 or 8 to nothing; Buckner hit a home run and actually slid into home. I also remember Lopes, in that same game, stealing second when they were ahead at least 6-0 in one of the later innings. There was a stretch there, culminating in the '74 season, where the Dodgers were cocky to the point of nausea. Dave Lopes was the worst, but Buckner, Cey, Yeager and in '75, Burt Hooten were a close second.
Enough TV stints to get an actors tag? - Mischa (talk) 20:51, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
