Art Hauger[edit]

I noticed that you added the info about Arthur Hauger's minor league managing career. I also assumed that the Art Hauger who became a minor league manager was the same one who had also played in the majors, but now I'm starting to have my doubts. I believe there may have been two different Art Haugers.

I have been doing research on the 1925 Kinston Eagles by going through all the Kinston newspapers from that year. They all refer to him as A.J. Hauger while the major league player was named J.A. Hauger. I thought that this was just a typo, but then The Kinston Free Press stated that he was from Springfield, MO while the MLB player was from Delhi, OH. The google news search on him [1] has as the top news story the signing of Hauger as the manager of the Pennington Gap Bears in 1939. It states his age as 37. The MLB Hauger would have been 45 based on the November 18, 1893 birthdate given in his bio.

I recently lost access to the full version of Ancestry.com to check the census records. As I continue to read through the 1920's papers, I'll let you know what else I find. I am the person who wrote his page for Wikipedia based on the assumption that they were the same guy. I may be changing that in the near future when I gather more sure evidence. Let me know if you have any info on your end. Thanks. Kinston eagle 11:55, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
