Talk:2003 Chicago Cubs

From BR Bullpen

I took out the following sentence: "One of the most difficult batters the Cubs faced consistently was Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals. They had difficulty striking out Pujols, but still managed to get him out consistently, and did a better job than any other team in the major leagues at getting Pujols out. " It is not supported by statistics as Pujols had an OPS of 1.024 against the Cubs, right near his outstanding season average of 1,106, and his other statistics were also quite good. I also removed the bit about the pitching staff being among the best in history: they did lead the league in strikeouts, but not in ERA, ERA+ or WHIP. I'm dubious about the striking out the side bit, but I'm not sure if there's data available on that. Philippe (talk) 17:17, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
