Talk:1875 National Association

From BR Bullpen

Should the National League be considered a proper successor to the NA, so that the 1875 NA season should show the 1876 NL as the next season (and the 1876 NL show 1875 NA as the previous season) or are they really distinct leagues? Similarly, should the 1891 AA point to the 1892 NL (since the leagues were merged), and should the 1892 NL show both the 1891 NL and 1891 AA as previous seasons? --Roger 14:54, 19 May 2006 (EDT)

I would list them as distinct leagues. The 1891-1892 situation is a bit more questionable. Also, what do you do about the 1900 AL? Acknowledge it or not? - --Mischa 15:46, 19 May 2006 (EDT)

The 1900 AL was the predecessor to the 1901 AL, but it was a minor league, like the 1913 Federal League --Just me 16:22, 19 May 2006 (EDT)

Can we do a footnote that it became the NL in '76? --Scott 19:04, 19 May 2006 (EDT)
