Biographical Information[edit]
Takayuki Nakano has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Nakano was on the Japanese national team in the 1967 Asian Championship as the country won its fifth title. The Yakult Atoms drafted him in the first round of the 1968 NPB draft.[1] Nakano was unable to adapt to professional baseball, as his batting average was never above .200 in his career. He was often used as backup shortstop to Fumihiro Tojo. Nakano announced his retirement after the 1973 season.[2]
Overall, Nakano had hit .142/.197/.230 in 6 seasons in NPB.
