Biographical Information[edit]
Takashi Ide has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ide pitched for the Japanese national team in the 1965 Asian Championship as the country won its fourth title. The Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the third round of the 1966 NPB draft.[1] However, Ide suffered from a shoulder injury, and he was unable to pitch in 1968 and 1969 after having 17 appearances with a 5.13 ERA in 1967. The Dragons turned Ide into an outfielder in 1970. Ide was a pinch-runner or 4th outfielder in his entire career, only got 64 at-bats combined in 8 seasons with the Dragons. He announced his retirement after the 1976 season, and became a coach. He coached the Dragons from 1978 to 1986 and from 1992 to 1995. After retiring as a pro, he coached Tokyo University since 2020.[2]
Overall, Ide had hit .188/.224/.250 in 8 seasons in NPB.
