Biographical Information

Takahiro Funao represented Japan in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup. Backing up Yoshihiko Kajiyama in left, he did very well at 6-for-13 with a walk, two doubles, two steals in two tries, six runs and two RBI in five games; he had five putouts, an assist and a double play while making no errors. He played for Nippon Steel Muroran in the Industrial League after college.
