Biographical Information[edit]
Taiki Ono pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ono was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the second round of the 2016 NPB draft, and he received a 70 million yen signing bonus.[1] He joined their rotation as a rookie, and he was 2-7 with a 4.35 ERA in 2017. He faced control problems in 2018, and he led the Central League with 81 walks and 10 wild pitches. His ERA was 4.77 in 23 starts, and he had a 7-7 record. Ono was removed from the rotation in 2019, and his ERA was 2.31 in 14 appearances. However, he spent his entire 2020 season in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he slumped to a 7.98 ERA in 2021. After mainly staying in the ni-gun in 2022, the Tigers released him.[2] Ono then signed with the Orix Buffaloes, but he only pitched 5 games for their big club in 2023.
Ono's repertoire featured a fastball that peaks at 97.5 mph, slider, forkball and a curveball.
