Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Tad Venger was taken 24th overall by the Cincinnati Reds in the 1977 amateur draft. He played in their system until 1980, before finishing his career in the Kansas City Royals system in 1981. He never played higher than A ball.

He began his career with a .301/.403/.442 line in 48 games for the Billings Mustangs and followed that with a .302/.316/.511 line in 49 games for the Eugene Emeralds. In 190 plate appearances, he walked only five times. The rest of his career was in the doldrums and he hit .256/.324/.396 in 262 games as a whole.
