The Tacoma Tugs were the Cleveland Indians affiliate in the Pacific Coast League in 1979. Previously, they were a New York Yankees farm team known as the Tacoma Yankees. After just one season as the Tugs, they changed their name to the traditional Tacoma Tigers moniker.
