Biographical Information[edit]
Susumu Nakanowatari pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Nakanowatari represented Japan in the 1998 Baseball World Cup and 2001 Baseball World Cup. The Yokohama BayStars drafted him in the seventh round of the 1999 NPB draft. He only had 3 appearances in his rookie year. Nakanowatari broke out and recorded a 2.61 ERA in 63 appearances in 2001. However, he pitched too many games and injured his right hand. He only had 12 more appearances in the next two seasons, and announced his retirement after the 2003 season.
Overall, Nakanowatari was 6-1 with a 3.43 ERA and pitched 102 1/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
