He relieved Ceaser Ofoedu in the 4th against host South Africa and allowed 4 hits, 5 walks and 8 earned runs in 1 2/3 IP, striking out one, before Emmanuel Motoni relieved. He started the finale against Ghana and went 3 1/3 IP, allowing 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out six and surrendering 3 earned runs before Motoni relieved again. His 19.80 ERA was highest for Nigeria in the event, 7.80 more than Ofoedu.
