Biographical Information[edit]

Strick Shofner played several games for the Boston Red Sox in 1947. The Red Sox tried eight players at third base that year, with Sam Dente's 46 games at the position being the most of any one player. Shofner went 2 for 13 in 5 games, 4 at third base and one as a pinch hitter. The following year Johnny Pesky won the job.

In 1948 Shofner played for the San Francisco Seals.

Some references refer to him as "Frank Shofner".
