Steve Webber

Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Webber played college baseball at Southern Illinois University and participated in the 1969 College World Series. He was head coach at the University of Georgia from 1981 to 1996, leading the team to a national title in 1990.

After eight years as a scout and coach in the New York Yankees system, most recently as Coordinator of Minor League Instruction from 2000-03, Webber joined the San Diego Padres organization in 2004. He spent two years as pitching coach of the Fort Wayne Wizards and served in the same role with the Lake Elsinore Storm in 2006-2007. In 2008-2009 he moved up to the San Antonio Missions, and in 2010 to the Portland Beavers. Webber moved with the club in 2011 as pitching coach of the Tucson Padres, a position he retained in 2012. In 2013-2014 he was the pitching coach for the Oklahoma City RedHawks in the Houston Astros' organization.

Webber was hired by the Atlanta Braves as a Minor League pitching consultant for 2016.
