Biographical Information

Outfielder Steve Ryder was signed by the Milwaukee Braves in 1958 and played five seasons in their organization. In 1959, he hit .346 with 12 homers and 90 RBIs for the Eau Claire Bears of the Northern League. He continued to play semi-pro baseball while pursuing his education, then became a high school teacher and continuing education counselor.

He underwent a successful heart transplant in 1998.
