Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Fischer pitched in the Oakland Athletics system from 2000 to 2004. He peaked at Double-A.

Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 24th round of the 2000 amateur draft, Fischer began his career with a 3-2 record and 2.93 ERA in 18 games (2 starts) for the Vancouver Canadians his first campaign. After a down year in 2001, he went 7-4 with a 2.81 mark in 50 games (2 starts) for the Visalia Oaks in 2002. Between two clubs in 2003, he was 7-5, 3.65 in 34 games (10 starts), then he wrapped his career up with a down year in 2004.

Overall, Fischer went 25-21 with a 4.09 ERA in 163 games (38 starts). In 413 2/3 innings, he allowed 454 hits and 160 walks (1.484 WHIP), while striking out 301 batters.
