Biographical Information[edit]
Steve Davis was a lefty pitcher selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 21st round of the 1982 amateur draft. Davis worked his way through the Blue Jays farm system as a starter, highlighted by a combined 20-8 record in 1985 with the Knoxville Blue Jays and Syracuse Chiefs. Davis was called up to the parent club in August 1985, appearing in 10 games for the Blue Jays while posting a 2-1 record and 3.45 ERA over 28 IP. That would be the high point for Davis in the majors. Three appearances in relief for the 1986 Blue Jays yielded 13 baserunners in 3 2/3 innings and a subsequent demotion. Davis would surface one more time in the majors, appearing in 12 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1989 and pitching to a 8.08 ERA. Davis ended his big league career with a 3-2 record over 25 games with a 6.44 ERA.
