Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Bartkowski was taken by the Kansas City Royals in the 33rd round of the 1971 amateur draft as a high school first baseman. He opted for college; the Baltimore Orioles chose him in the 19th round of the 1974 amateur draft. He decided to focus on football, where he spent 11 years as quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, leading the NFL in touchdown passes in 1980 and passer rating in 1983. He was a two-time Pro Bowl pick.
