Biographical Information

Stephen Barga began his umpiring career in the 2006 Arizona League and Northwest League. He moved up to the South Atlantic League (2007), Carolina League (2007-2009) and then to AAA with the International League in 2010. While working in the Pacific Coast League for most of 2012, he also worked in MLB spring training and as a MLB fill-in umpire. Barga was chosen for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers as well.

In college, Barga had played football.
