Biographical Information[edit]

Starlyng Sanchez joined the Houston Astros organization in 2013 and pitched in their minor league system through the 2015 season. Sanchez played mostly at the Dominican Summer League and Gulf Coast League levels, though he did appear in 8 games for the Appalachian League Greeneville Astros in 2015. Overall Sanchez had a record of 4-6 with 1 save and an ERA of 4.71 over three seasons. He appeared in 40 games and started 10 of them.

Sanchez returned to the Astros organization as a coach in 2018-2019 with the DSL Astros. He was slated to return in the same role in 2020 until the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of the minor league season. He was a pitching coach for the DSL Astros in 2021 and for the DSL Astros Blue in 2022-2023.
