Stan Sanchez

Biographical Information[edit]

Stan Sanchez has been a long-time coach.

Sanchez was head coach of San Bernardino High School (1973-1976), Aquinas High School (1977-1981?) and San Bernardino Valley College (1983-1991). He won Foothill Conference Coach of the Year in 1986. He also coached for the San Bernardino Spirit in 1987 and 1989. He was the team's Director of Community Relations and the radio announcer in 1988.

He was assistant at California State University, Northridge, presumably in 1992-1993. In 1994, he became the head coach of Colorado State University-Pueblo, reviving a defunct baseball program. He guided them to the 1996 Division II College World Series, their first Division II World Series. He was the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coach to 800 career wins, a mark he reached in 2017. He won RMAC Coach of the Year in 1994, 1996 and 2001. He set his school's record with 45 wins in a season in 2001. He won 868 games before announcing his retirement in 2020.
