Biographical Information

Stan Meek pitched in the minors from 1974-1977, primarily in the Florida State League. He was pitching coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1978-1989 and head coach in 1990. He was then a scout (and sometime pitching instructor) for the Detroit Tigers from 1991 to 1995. He moved to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' organization as national cross-checker in 1996, staying through 2000. Meek has been the scouting director for the Florida Marlins since 2002 (as of 2011).
