Biographical Information[edit]
Vernon "Slicker" Parks pitched 10 games for the 1921 Detroit Tigers, posting a record of 3-2.
Parks was at the University of Michigan during 1919-20 and played for Portland during 1920. After his time in the majors, he was back in the minors through 1932. He went 15-11 with Syracuse in 1924 and 19-14 with Jersey City in 1926.
Through 2009 he is the only major leaguer with the first name Slicker.
