Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Sid Akins was a member of the United States National Baseball Team at the 1982 Amateur World Series and in the 1984 Olympics. He was also selected by the Texas Rangers in the third round of the 1984 Amateur Draft. He is the cousin of big league pitcher Randy Wolf and umpire Jim Wolf.
He pitched in the minor leagues from 1985 to 1989, reaching AAA for one season with the Richmond Braves in 1988.
