Biographical Information[edit]
Shurman Marlin has played in the Hoofdklasse.
Marlin was on an Aruban Little League team with Xander Bogaerts and Jair Bogaerts. He was expected to be the starting 1B for DOOR Neptunus as a rookie in the 2014 Hoofdklasse but broke his arm a week before the season began. He only got into 7 games, going 8 for 18 with a run, RBI and two doubles, backing up Gyenuar Lopez. Marlin became the starter in the postseason, going 9 for 30 with a triple in the playoffs. In the 2014 Holland Series, he delivered his first pro home run in style; with a 2-1 lead in game 5 (with Neptunus facing elimination), he hit a two-run jack off Jos de Jong for crucial insurance.
