Biographical Information

Shun Mizutani has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Mizutani's father was from Nigeria. He was drafted by the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks in the 5th round of the 2019 NPB draft, but he stayed in the NPB Farm League in his first four seasons. The Nippon Ham Fighters then selected him in the 2023 NPB Active draft, and he soon became one of their starting outfielders. Mizutani broke the interleague play record with a .438 batting average, and he won the interleague play MVP. He was also selected into the 2024 NPB All-Star Game, and he was 0-for-3 in Game 1 while going 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, against Takuma Kirishiki and Hiroki Ohnishi, in Game 2.
