Biographical Information[edit]
Relief pitcher Shuichiro Osada played in Nippon Professional Baseball from 1993 to 2006. Notable campaigns include 2012, when he was 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA in 53 relief appearances for the Saitama Seibu Lions and 2015, when he was 4-1 with a 2.06 mark in 45 appearances for the Yokohama Bay Stars. He performed particularly well in ni-gun, posting a 0.00 ERA in 19 appearances in 2011, a 1.08 mark in 14 games in 2012, a 0.00 ERA in 8 games in 2015 and a 2.81 mark in 25 games in 2016.
He was 0-1 with a save and a 1.80 ERA for the Japanese national team in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup. He saved Tetsuto Tomabechi's win over China and lost to Panama's Roger Deago.
In his NPB career, he was 25-25 with a 4.14 ERA in 389 games (4 starts) over 14 seasons. In 420 innings, he allowed 398 hits and 176 walks, while striking out 310 batters.
