Biographical Information[edit]
Sheldon Ocker covered the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers for ten years then was the Cleveland Indians writer for the Akron Beacon Journal from 1981-2013. He was president of the Baseball Writers Association of America in 1985 and was named Ohio Sports Writer of the Year in 1997 and 2000. In 2017, he won the J.G. Taylor Spink Award.
