Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Shawn Weaver was taken by the Boston Red Sox in the 39th round of the 1997 amateur draft out of high school, but opted not to sign. He went to Old Dominion University instead, playing there from 1999 to 2001; in 44 games (43 starts), he went 21-18 with a 5.26 ERA. He had 206 strikeouts in 268 2/3 innings, while posting a 1.51 WHIP. He also spent a couple seasons in the Cape Cod League, posting a 1.11 ERA in 65 innings for the Orleans Cardinals in 1999.
