Biographical Information

The grandson of major leaguer Tom Qualters, Shawn Stiffler is currently the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University

A former pitcher, Stiffler was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 53rd round of the 1997 amateur draft but did not sign, opting to attend George Mason University. After graduating in 2001, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2002 to 2006. He then moved on to Virginia Commonwealth, where he was pitching coach from 2007 thru 2012, when he was promoted to head coach.

Stiffler's brother Ian Stiffler was drafted in the 2013 amateur draft.
