Biographical Information[edit]

Shawn Kimball served as a replacement umpire for one American League game in 1991. That year, the regular umpires had gone on strike during spring training and the conflict was only resolved when the season was about to open. It was too late for the regulars to take their opening day assignment and Kimball was one of the umpires hired to work the game of April 8th between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox at [Memorial Stadium]]. He worked at first base that day.

Kimball had some professional umpiring experience, as he worked in the Gulf Coast League in 1979 and 1980, the South Atlantic League in 1981, the Midwest League ifrom 1982 to 1984 and the Texas League starting in 1984
