Shawinigan, previously known as Shawinigan Falls is located on the Saint-Maurice River in central Quebec, 30 miles north of Trois-Rivières, QC. A center of steel and electrical production, it is better known as the home town of former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. Émilien Côté and Jérôme Cotnoir were born here.
