Joseph Antonio Émilien Côté

Biographical Information[edit]

Émilien Côté began his professional umpiring career in 1957 in the Georgia-Florida League. After a second season in that circuit in 1958, he moved to the Pioneer League in 1959 and the the Three-I League in 1960. In 1961 and 1962, he worked in the South Atlantic League. He then worked amateur games in Quebec until 1979, when the umpires' strike gave him a chance to work 7 major league games, all of them in his hometown of Montreal, QC.

After his brief major league stint, he continued to work as the supervisor of umpires for the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League.
