Biographical Information

Shane Boras, the son of agent Scott Boras, played in the minors in 2011.

Shane hit .410 as a high school senior. The St. Louis Cardinals took him in the 35th round of the 2008 amateur draft. He did not sign. He was 1 for 11 as a college freshman and was redshirted as a sophomore. In 2011, the junior was 2 for 11 with two walks. Despite that performance, the Oakland A's chose him in the 39th round of the 2011 amateur draft. He hit .224/.269/.265 in 18 games for the AZL Athletics that summer, with 3 runs and 6 RBI. He fielded .962 at second base.
