Shamrock Park
Shamrock Park was a ballpark located in the east end of Montréal, QC whose main function was to be an all-purpose field for teams hosted by the "Shamrock Athletic Club", the city's sports club serving its large Irish community. In the first two decades of the 20th Century and from 1922 to 1924, the field served as the Sunday home of professional teams whose regular base was Atwater Stadium, which was not available on the Day of the Lord due to being owned by a Catholic religious congregation. Shamrock Park was a makeshift affair, and the field was in mediocre condition due to its being used for all sorts of events including lacrosse, rugby, soccer and so on in addition to baseball.
The site was later acquired by the city of Montreal where it erected the Marché Jean-Talon, one of the city's largest produce markets.
